About
Mark and Brad grew up in Portland and worked together in a gourmet pizza restaurant as teenagers. Both dreamed of owning their own shop someday. After high school, their paths took different directions. Mark attended Oregon State University and Brad left the Portland area to work and travel. Brad helped open and manage several restaurants in Crested Butte, Maui, Portland, and Bend. Mark completed his degree. Their mutual love for skiing and the outdoors lead them both to Bend, Oregon in the early 1990s, where they followed their dream of opening their own pizza shop.
After owning a Martolli’s location in Sisters, Oregon for nearly a decade, Mark and Brad opened Martolli’s Plaza location in February of 2010. They were drawn to the arts and culture, outdoor opportunities, and college feel of Ashland.
"We offer whole pizzas and pizza by the slice. We prepare our yeast dough from scratch, along with our homemade pizza sauces and salad dressings. We use the freshest and highest quality cheeses and grate them daily. We use local in-season vegetables when available and organic salad fixings. We have a wide and changing variety of beer on tap, wines by the bottle or glass, as well as unique non-alcoholic beverages. We admire great music and enjoy discussing live music and concerts. Patrons can’t help but enjoy the restaurant’s walls, which are decorated with local art, old band photos, and posters of concerts we’ve attended and some we have just dreamt of.”
